Todd Synder NYMFW F/W 2020

Visiting Maine you realize you’re either a Maine-Ah (from Maine) or From Away (not from Maine). For Todd Snyder's Fall 2020 collection, downtown bohemian style guide meets the great outdoors — a visit to Maine From Away, via New York City.

Haberdashery hits the trail in modern Balmacaan overcoats and Harris Tweed sack jackets paired with oversized vivid nylon down puffer vests. Classics trek into uncharted territory, mixing high-tech fabrications with an off-the-grid aesthetic: merino thermal sweaters in blaze orange and neon yellow, impeccably constructed suiting, and microfiber duck camouflage. Cozy sherpa, shearling, and corduroy add rich texture to luxe utility pieces, which feel equally at home in the urban jungle or the uplands of the Pine Tree State.

A hotly anticipated 40-piece L.L. Bean x Todd Snyder capsule also debuted on the runway. Snyder's take on the heritage brand’s most iconic styles includes a bespoke oil cloth Bean Boot and Boat and Tote, chamois shirting and sweaters in an archival duck print, hand-knit Cowichan logo sweaters, and statement outwear in L.L. Bean’s signature plaid. Snyder pays homage to “outdoor tradition” with his signature sartorial touch.

“As a Midwesterner, I am inspired by Maine’s raw natural beauty, from the mountains and forests to the lakes and rivers to the rocky Atlantic coastline," says Snyder. "Fall 2020 is all about suiting up for adventure — sartorial or otherwise.”

For his first season since he began showing in 2012, Snyder had four women walking the runway.

Fall 2020 is styled by Jim Moore, marking their third show together.
