Taoray Wang

Hailed as “the Queen of the suit” Wang Tao made her six-year New York Fashion Week appearance for the Autumn/Winter 2020 shows.  This time taking us on a trip over the pond to Paris to admire the polished and seemingly effortless style of Parisian women.  Known for her tailoring, exceptional textiles and kind character Wang is already our poster model of class. In two decades, she has become one of Asia’s most successful female entrepreneurs.

This season is synonymous with class as Wang presented jackets, skirts, blouses in café shades of espresso and cappuccino.  Tweed, wool, cashmere, and silk featured in jackets, dresses, along with muted blue and grey coats.  All to paint the picture of the perfect autumn morning in Paris.  Her inspiration…inhaling the fragrance of fresh baked croissants and a cup of cappuccino topped with a swirl of creamy white foam.

Wang acknowledges her normal go to of a streamlined black and white collection in previous seasons but finds herself inspired with recent travels and brand collaborations with an upcoming line in Paris.  Our girl is busy!  This very busyness brings on even more admiration for the effortless glam of the women Wang has found herself recently surrounded by.  “Don’t you wonder how they work hard and handle this constant mood and still project beauty?” Wang asked in our pre-show backstage interview.  She further noted, “It is a lot going on but in it so much to be inspired by.”
