Badgley Mischka Swimwear

There are swimsuits and then there is resort-wear. Go into any box store and you will find thousands of outfits that will look at home on the sand of your local beach. Those are swimsuits. Now imagine making room on your schedule, booking a first class ticket to Monte Carlo and in between trips to The Casino and after dodging F1 cars on your way to your yacht, you will see resort-wear. On those floating helicopter pads and in places where a “Black Card” is not enough, is where you will find Badgley Mischka designs. It should be no surprise as to how such a luxurious brand was able to port their well established fashion vision from red carpet and ballroom, to poolside. Styling cues taken from some of their most beautiful dresses and gowns, made for elegant resort-wear that is clearly created with a higher clientele in mind.

Their Miami Swim Week show was held at The W in South Beach, on a runway over top the hotel’s massive pool. A fitting place seeing that the W Hotels are now considered the standard when one thinks of luxury hotels. Badgley Mischka creations, literally walking on water, could not have been in a better setting for their modern, luxury focused designs. The lady’s outfits were made from lots of ruffles and stones, retaining that affluent feel without looking gaudy. This was definitely not a case of style over substance, because there was plenty of both. The gents wore shorts that would look at home on 007 emerging from the water. Colorful and stylish all the while looking manly and athletic.

The models looked as if they had just walked out onto the runway to avoid paparazzi, while on their way to a private villa on the French Riviera. So when planning your next trip to southern France, you should look no further for your poolside attire.
