Ghada Albuainain & Harlienz F/W 2019
The bling and the “zing” coming together for perfect harmony can be found in this seasons collaboration of Ghada Al Buainain and Harlienz for New York Fashion Week. The Qatari designers brought the Middle East to this seasons runway via Harlienz silk, linen, and organza fashion paired with jewelry designs by Ghada Al Buainain. The two sophisticated fashion houses were chosen from over 100 designers in their area by show directors Gills Manjulakshmi and Carrot GK to show this season.
The setting of Pier 59 Studios industrial charm gave a nice backdrop for the modern yet minimalist style of the two besties who’s goal is to create new and relevant ways to wear modest fashion within their conservative culture. If you are thinking modest, minimal and boring you will have to think again. Whites, Nudes, Blushes, and Bold colors made for many options that could really appeal to all women.
Taking it another step past minimal House of Harlienz encompasses their own boutique warehouse with an on-site tailoring studio and quality control procedures for their customers made-to-order garments. These girls are showing us a glimpse of what the Qatari fashion takeover looks like.
