Badgley Mischka
I’m not sure how they expect us to concentrate when after viewing this season’s collection from Mark Badgley and James Mischka all we want to do is shop and vacay! We know you agree! This season the designing duo brought every color to the New York Fashion Week runway. All the staples of the Badgley Mischka label that we love incorporated elegance, luxury, and quality garment construction.
All of those great qualities we love were now brought front and center level 10 via how much color was featured. Tropical leaves, florals, and gorgeous wildflowers bringing us back to the vacay we referenced earlier. The idea you ask? Italy by way of Barbados really sums it up as the two designers looked for inspiration via the 18th-century estate Bellerive home of Claudette Colbert. The infamous Oscar winner purchased the home in 1961 and it soon became the go to Hollywood hosted party location to all of her equally infamous friends. Can you imagine? Mia Farrow, Frank Sinatra, Babe Paley and Princess Margaret to name a few. The glamour of it all.
Mark and James explained being in awe of how they entertained in this era. This breathed life into this seasons designs. Starting in modern silhouettes, embellished sleeves mixed with very blue waters, lush palms, green land combined with the sophistication in a brand we respect so much. It is romantic and it works.
