Afffair F/W 2019
We often ask ourselves at TRA how some of the premium designer shows we attend will maintain their wow factor for the next upcoming season. Sometimes it seems impossible until we show up the following season and witness it. This season we won’t lie we had those very thoughts about Azerbaijani designer Rufat Ismayil’s collection from last season “Power of Fire”. It was exquisite, sophisticated and most of all unforgettable. This season we still reserve that same admiration for his line and add a much-deserved level of respect. Rufat works hard and most may not know that he has around four years of modeling under his belt and has studied six languages before moving into launching his label Afffair. In a preshow interview he shared with our Fashion Editor Marquita Bianca that although it was a great career start, he prefers the behind the scene designer approach more. Except when the Turkish Men’s Health calls him to shoot for their magazine cover, he would of course have to come out of retirement, right?
Well one thing we don’t see him retiring from any time soon is his now life’s work of designing (fingers crossed). This seasons collection taken from Rufat’s inspiration of the monarch butterflies featured handmade shoes and accessories by 30 Turkish women over the past 6 months. Each pair of shoes, every outfit all adorned in jewels and glamour. Turkish super model Tülin Sahin opened and closed the runway show. Her finale dress also worn by Ashanti to this year’s Grammys.
From barely there minis, lace body suits, to dramatic layers of chiffon this season reminded us why we fell in love with Afffair from its previous season while swooning us with new elements you will never forget. Very fitting we can now say we experienced the “Butterfly Affect”.

TRA'da kendimize sık sık katıldığımız premium tasarımcıların bazılarının gelecek sezon için vay faktörlerini nasıl koruyacaklarını sorduk. Bazen gelecek sezon ortaya çıkıp tanıklık edene kadar imkansız görünüyor. Bu sezon Azerbaycanlı tasarımcı Rufat Ismayil’in geçen sezon “Ateşin Gücü” nden aldıkları koleksiyon hakkında düşüncelerimiz olduğunu söyleyemeyiz. Enfes, sofistike ve en önemlisi unutulmazdı. Bu sezon aynı çizgide hala aynı hayranlık uyandırıyor ve çok fazla bir saygı görüyoruz. Rufat çok çalışıyor ve çoğu, kemerinin altında yaklaşık dört yıllık bir modelleme yaptığını ve Afffair etiketini çıkarmadan önce altı dil üzerinde çalıştığını bilmiyor olabilir. Moda Editörü Marquita Bianca ile paylaştığı bir gösteri röportajında, harika bir kariyer başlangıcı olmasına rağmen, sahne tasarımcısı yaklaşımını daha çok tercih ediyordu. Türk Erkek Sağlığı onu dergi kapağı için çekim yapmaya çağırdığında, elbette emekli olmak zorunda kalacak, değil mi? Pek yakında onu herhangi bir zamanda emekli olarak görmeyeceğimiz bir şey, şimdiki hayatının tasarım çalışmasıdır (parmak çarpı işareti). Rufat’ın hükümdar kelebeklerinden ilham alan bu sezon koleksiyonu, son 6 ay içinde 30 Türk kadının el yapımı ayakkabılarını ve aksesuarlarını içeriyordu. Her ayakkabı çifti, her kıyafeti hepsi mücevherlerle süslenmiş. Türk süper modeli Tülin Şahin pist gösterisini açtı ve kapattı. Son kıyafeti de Ashanti tarafından bu yılki Grammy'lere giyildi. Ancak orada minis, dantel beden kıyafeti, bu sezon dramatik şifon katmanlarına kadar, bize neden hiç unutmayacağınız yeni unsurlarla takılmaya devam ederken, önceki sezondan Afffair'e neden aşık olduğumuzu hatırlattı.
