Zang Toi 2019 A/W NYFW Collection
In a current world where so much is happening politically, we can appreciate Malaysian designer and Parson graduate Zang Toi’s celebration of America. You can see this in a flag infused sleek black skirt with a white collared shirt. A fitting celebration after living in America for 38 years, wouldn’t you agree? While we know there may be a large percentage of fashion goers that avoid the political heaviness this seasons collection still proved to be “Classic on its own terms”.
Pin curled hair, a great red lip and red nails were the canvas for each of Toi’s runway models. The first model rocked a floor length coat and high-top Chuck Taylor’s in navy blue. A few denim on denim pieces followed including a pair of overalls. When is the last time you saw overalls on the runway? But it worked! While the collection stuck to a color palette of red, white and blue Zang’s signature evening wear brought the drama by way of a red cape and a full velvet ball gown skirt. Two other designs stood out as well, one in red and a second in blue adorned with jewels around the neck. Zang is continuing his companies’ mission of elegance and timeless beauty both in which he is recognized world renowned for to this very day.
