Chromat 2019 S/S NYFW
Swim suit label Chromat can surely be synonymous with the word inclusion. Designer Becca McCharen-Tran successfully proves this point each season and Chromat has become one of New York Fashion week’s must see shows. Not only for the strong empowering statements but also for the Creative spins McCharen-Tran puts on pieces that many women would think twice about wearing. Playing with sheer fabric, crop tops to netting and even thigh bands to prevent chaffing.
Too much thigh, Not a size 4, Only 5’3? Fashion speaks and Chromat tells us we are enough. The special qualities about each woman in this seasons show proved that! Take Transgender model, dance, activist and more Leyna Bloom whom is also the first transgender model of color to appear in Vogue India. Then Brooklyn model Mama Cax whom at the age of 14 was diagnosed with cancer and 3 weeks to live made her Fashion Week debut. Every other model could be the bestie of you and I that lives next door. The bestie that you see as one of the most extraordinary women you have ever met.
