C+ Plus Series NYFW S/S 2019
Taiwanese born C.T. Liu started designing in 2013 after transitioning over from the world of cinema. Working with other designers for the next several years, in 2018, C.T. chose to strike out on his own to create C+ Plus Series.
Drawing from his experience in the world of film, C.T. Liu, creates outfits that not only would look good on the big screen, but also on the runway. His design seem a bit futuristic, but not in a bad way. It’s more like getting a glimpse of what we will most certainly see in the next 10 years in everyday wear today. If you think about it, is it not the goal of any brand from any discipline to try to steer the field in the direction that they want it to go? This is exactly what Mr. Liu is doing, by using contemporary lines and patterns with a combination of natural and synthetic materials. Lots of earthy colors and intricate layering help lend to a style and look that he can actually call his own now.
Though this was my first time seeing C+ Plus Series on the runway, I am most certainly interested to see what his and our futures have in store.
