MiMi Tran based out of San Francisco, CA, showed for her fourth season at Art Hearts Fashion during New York Fashion Week this past February 2016. As always, MiMi's Fall & Winter 2016 Collection delivered impeccable pieces throughout the entire runway presentation.
Her collection presented this year was about 19 different looks. Mimi's collection of evening gowns and cocktail dresses definitely shows she has an eye for nothing less than glamour. Opening the show with what I thought wasn't cohesive with rest of the collection (but gorgeous) was this vibrant royal/cobalt blue cocktail dress. The details on this dress were black lace flowers along with tons of hand detailed beads sparkling for that dramatic runway effect. Next up was another vibrant blue floor length dress with nude lace details throughout the body of of the dress.
“The Mimi Tran woman is fearless, strong and radiant – a woman to be respected, someone to impress, someone who strides with passion – her excellence pouring over any who behold her” – Mimi Tran
My absolute favorite look from this F/W '16 collection would be the flowy, sheer, black skirt paired with the nude/gold beaded and sequin detailed top, with a slim black belt and gold bow. These belts were seen throughout her collection on the runway.
Several of the evening gowns and cocktail dresses were paired with a reminiscent of the 1950s, when women wore gloves and furs. Such a Breakfast at Tiffany's type of look when gloves played an important role for women looking ultra fashionable. This is definitely one trend (gloves) I wish would find it's way back to the everyday woman's wardrobe.
It's a great way to add soft yet hard element to a high end luxurious look! Fashionistas all around know that adding leather elements to a look could make certain outfit/look hard or rockish. The delivery here was nothing less than girly and elegant. When the wedding gown entered the room the only thing I could say was Oh La La as it came down the runway! Super stunning white laced mermaid gown with an extended train flowing behind.
The colors of this collections was mostly black with all things girly. All black with the mix of leather, florals, gold sequins, beads, and furs all played very well together within this luxury runway presented by MiMi Tran.
