Baja East F/W 2016/17
Upon the entrance of the first model to walk through the fog at the beginning of the runway, one cannot but help notice how familiar the clothing looks. Not familiar in that it's similar to another designer, but familiar in that it reminds you of the look of functionality. Wraps, scarves and overcoats are there for a reason. This is here to keep you cool, while offering protection. This is here to shade you, but still not be in the way. Baja East produce a line of pieces that can literally be worn anywhere, for almost any occasion. I could imagine Hugh Hefner and Grace Jones bumping into each other at a Baja East store. From silken pajama like outfits, all the way to asymmetrical skirts to golden cocktail blouses. As the show continued, the range of clothing just got broader and broader. Showing that they weren't there to be shy or modest, they, one after another, rolled out a vast array of apparel that was clearly in the style of Baja east. Hip and modern, to be worn by those who value exclusivity.
