Clearly relying on the influences of no one, Altaf has the unique vision of the new generation of designers. His mixing of leather and flower patterns is why people gravitated toward his clothing at the Arthearts Fashion Show. Every outfit that was displayed resulted in the crowd saying, "why didn't I think of that?" Long single breasted floor-length jackets with leather lapels. Skirts with pointed shoulders and leather strap cuffs. Solid thigh length dresses with geometric flower patchwork strewn about thim. Speaking of flowers... One of the reasons that I said that Altaf relies on no one is this: Unlike most designers that trade their pastels and flowers in during the fall and winter, for greys, black and navy's, Altaf has done just the opposite. It is actually refreshing seeing bright colors after September 1st and I can't for the life of me understand why this so-called rule is still around. Certain shades of the spectrum should not be relegated to only being worn during special months. Thank goodness for designers like this, because with every garment they produce, it forces us to rethink the whole stereotypes of fashion.
