Noon By Noor SS 2017
Summer is the season for light and flowing. Noon By Noor's line of hot weather clothing is the definition of light and flowing. Designing a line of clothing that looks stylish for the warmer months, is much more difficult than clothing for the winter. One simple reason; there is less to work with. Think about it, if you could use leather, fur and wool to design an outfit for a spring/summer fashion show, your possibilities will be endless, but so would the trail of perspiration of anyone that bought those "summer" clothes. With that said, Shaikha Noon al Khalifa and Shaikha Haya al Khalifa have honed their skills as designers to be able to create a lot, from just a little.
Their Middle Eastern origins are very evident in that they chose to use materials that are both luxurious and utilitarian when needed to keep their wearer cool. Lots of sheer and cotton in arrangements that look great for everything from and over the bikini garment, to something that would be at home at a cocktail party. But my personal favorites were the linen outfits they exhibited during the show. Linen, The most deceptive of all cooling materials, was used in ways that made some in the audience wonder how that garment fit in a spring/summer show. Upon closer inspection, that same person would later exclaim, "Oh, it's linen, they are probably freezing right now." The epitome of turning little of nothing, into a lot of something, Noon By Noor, the Masters of cool. (Pun intended....)
