Some designers plateau, because they seem to have run out of inspiration. It's the same thing, just in a different color. Other designers decide that they are going to blaze a trail that has never been traveled before. Unfortunately, the reason no one has taken that route, is because they saw the error in their ways beforehand. Then there are the designers that are fortunate enough to get inspiration from even the smallest things and turn that inspiration into consistent progress. Bibhu Mohapatra's shows are, time and time again, better than the last. Specializing in and cocktail and evening dresses, he has managed to display an array of outfits fit for any partygoer. His use of the "train" is what really sets the garments apart from virtually every other designer. There's nothing more regal or elegant, than seeing a woman in a gown, that due to its shear design, requires others to remove themselves from the immediate vicinity. It forces those around her to stop, look and stare at the opulence they were graced to be near. That is the feeling that one gets when seeing one of Bibhu's dresses. There was obviously no expense spared when planning each outfit, because, for a lack of better words, the designs look like they were made for a night out at The casino de Monte Carlo. Polished, stately and grand are words that promptly come to mind when seeing his finished product and even those adjectives do them no justice.
