Why did you choose fashion designing as a career?
I love fashion.I love the way you put any fabrics together and make an outfit.Also being able to make an outfit on awhim is an exciting thing.looking at other designers inspired me, , watching them on T.v, reading magazines and thats how I knew that this is what I wanted to do in life.
Growing up, was there anyone in your family who made you feel like designing?
Definitely my father. He always encouraged me to go after what I want.He paid ma tuition for fashion school to develop my skill.
When selecting your fabric range, do you think about the end-of-life-stage, such as the implications of disposal?
Yes I do. I choose materials that are environmentally friendly.
What is the most challenging part about being a fashion designer?
There are alot of critics in the fashion industry.So having people like and accept what you do is challenging. Having the right material, & making an outfit to the body specifically of the person.
What advice would you give to aspiring fashion designer?
To have interest be creative and love what you do.
In which area of design does your line fall under? (Ex: street fashion, ready to wear, haute couture)
My line falls more in the ready to wear category.Though there's abit of street fashion to it, depending on what my client specifically wants.
What markets and demographic do you cater to?
Demographic are crucial to any business.I mainly look at consumers, the last person having to wear the outfit. Its natural instinct to want to target as many people as possible, but, I mainly look to the young youthful crowd.
How do you stay up to date regarding fashion?
I watch alt of fashion T.v, lastest fashion magazines.I stalk fashion pages on Facebook. Basically to look at what's trending.
