Fix & Fax AW 2020

Katya Leonovich started her day like any other with Japanese sushi and making sure all detailed packing was done for her February 6th show at Pier59 studios.  In her 2nd season of presenting a men’s wear show the Russian born designer was calm, cool and collected.  Backstage also had a calmness to it as a full hair team worked on curating hair for each model in time for the show.  Through the calm shined Katya’s excitement for the day as she exclaimed how much fun creating this new line was for her.  “It’s menswear and before I was doing only womans-wear.  It is so fun. It is like a new world!”

The line titled “Fix and Fax” came from her two pet rats. She wants to push color and exciting outfit options for men to choose from.  Moving past the staple browns, black and gray but enough color that makes it wearable but not over the top.  “I don’t want to cross too much of a border.  I want them to look street style, funky, happy and we even included some elegant pieces.”

Katya has her eyes set on branding her new menswear and building its awareness.  “I think it is more wear-able, and close to the earth compared to my high-fashion. It is time to take it to the next level!”  The 2020 AW line encompasses sheer organza, nylon, Indian silk, and pop art prints.  Fun is the perfect word for it!
